Day 07: Post-Launch Day

Welcome to all new subscribers 🥳 . In this newsletter I document my journey of building out a profitable 💲 online business as a software engineer. Focused, but not limited to, topics about building a SaaS.

So, what was the progress from yesterday?

Here’s what happened…

Yesterday I launched on ProductHunt. To be honest, nothing really happened. 😅 Here are the stats:

For reference the 1st rank of the day had around 600 upvotes. As for the traffic, this is what Vercel Analytics provided me with:

So I got roughly a 100 people to come and visit my website but only 4 actually got into the app, out of which I assume 1 was me. 🤣 

In other news…

I managed to keep on building the email builder. To be honest, it was a lot of thinking on how to do it and I realized that this could be a very versatile tool to built. Technically if I create a system that builds a JSON structure of elements, then it’s all about building a compiler for that JSON to build it out to a HTML for email, webpage or what have you 🤔 

So I could potentially end up with both a page builder and an email builder in one.

The plan for today:

• Create the basic UI for the JSON page builder

• Add Sections with columns

  • A section is an element that basically is a row

…I’ll pick it up from there depending on how far I get.
